What Happens During Intracept® and How Does It Resolve Lower Back Pain? 


An Intracept® probe is placed into the vertebrae through a small incision in the back.Once the probe is at the basivertebral nerve, radiofrequency energy disables the nerve, which is also known as basivertebral nerve ablation.


The basivertebral nerve is partially responsible for chronic lower back pain. The probe burns that nerve, blocking the pain signals before they can reach the end plates of the vertebrae where there is chronic lower back pain.

The Intracept® procedure provides options for individuals who have not responded well to conventional treatment therapy for their lower back pain.
